New, three-year contract gives healthcare providers access to high-quality handheld diagnostic products at substantial savings
Waukegan, IL, March 23, 2011 – Briggs Medical Service Company, a leading provider of professional and home healthcare products, announced a three-year agreement with leading healthcare supply contracting company Novation for handheld diagnostics products. Under the terms of the new agreement, Briggs will be a joint supplier for more than 25,000 members of VHA Inc., the University HealthSystem Consortium, and 5,500 members of Provista, representing more than 28,000 sites. Effective April 1, 2011, the agreement is part of Novation's new commitment of delivering marketing-leading products and cost-effective pricing in high spend categories.
This contract includes Briggs’ extensive line of professional stethoscopes and sphygmomanometers. Marketed under the company’s respected MABIS® brand, these product lines have been trusted by hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare providers for more than 20 years. Briggs’ stethoscopes were designed to be equivalent to leading national brands, and have been reported by clinicians that have used them to be as good as, or even preferred to, those national brands. The stethoscopes feature high-acoustical sensitivity, deluxe stainless steel components, unsurpassed quality and performance, and are backed by full warranties.
“For over 60 years we have been the leaders in providing high-quality, cost-effective medical record solutions to the country’s healthcare providers, and we are excited to be able to now provide that same value with handheld diagnostic products,” said Alan Yefsky, Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing. “We are honored by the contract awarded to us by Novation, and we look forward to working with the group’s membership.”
